Arturo Riera is an active member of the Bay Area arts and cultural community. He has been a
member of the Board of Directors of San Jose Jazz since 2003 and was elected Chairman in
2006. Riera joined the Board of San Francisco's Yerba Buena Gardens Festival in 2005 and
became Chairman in 2007. He co-founded The Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco in
2001 and Latino Entertainment Partners in 1996, an event production company specializing in
Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban music.
Riera produced The Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble's CD, "LJYE Live at Yoshi's", released in January
of 2006. He is a prolific writer about the Bay Area Latin jazz scene. His articles, artist profiles,

website,MisterLatinJazz.com. Riera is often called upon to serve as Master of Ceremonies at
civic and cultural events throughout the Bay Area.
